10th anniversary

Well, the sun shone, it did not rain, and an estimated 300 people celebrated ten years since the opening of Millbridge Brook Meadows on May 5th 2024.

The picnic on the meadows was designed to promote it as a community and leisure green space and a rich environmental site for Gamlingay.

A photo book with highlights from the celebrations in May 2025 and images from the past and present [pictured below] is now part of the library at the Eco Hub and is available for consultation on site, though not for borrowing.

Pupils from Gamlingay Village Primary (pictured above) buried a time capsule, which is schedule to stay below the surface until the meadows’ 60th anniversary in 2074. As well as the writings of GVP pupils, it also included mementoes from the 2nd Gamlingay Guides, a neckerchief, a promise badge and items marking the death of Queen Elizabeth and the coronation of King Charles.
