St Mary’s Field Cemetery
Opened in April 2016, Gamlingay’s new cemetery is situated behind St Mary’s Church on St Mary’s field. The cemetery is mainly laid out in lawned sections for formal burials , there is also a cremated remains section, a woodland area, enclosed plots and a dedicated children’s section.
The public footpath which formerly ran diagonally across the site has been legally diverted (Oct 17) and now runs alongside the cemetery, separated by a beech hedge. Dogs are welcome to accompany their owners to burials or to visit graves but please keep them on a lead under close control and clear up any dog waste and dispose of in the nearest bin (there are dog waste bins at the St Mary’s cemetery gates and next to the phone box by St Mary’s church).

Cemetery Stocks Lane
The oldest part of the cemetery is the first part through the main gates off Stocks Lane, with plots laid out to both sides of the central path (sections A-F, FD, CA and M). There are some Commonwealth War graves in this part of the cemetery. Further down the central path, past the holly hedge are the more recent burial sections (G – K). There is also a cremated remains section (CR). There are limited grave and cremated remains plots left to purchase in this cemetery – please consult the Clerks for more information.
